1-Portland cement

Portland cement is a type of powdered cement. This cement can be used for normal applications that don’t require much resistance and don’t put a lot of load on them. For example, Portland cement is used in the construction of sidewalks, tables on the side of the street, cement pipes for water transmission, etc. This cement can be combined with gravel, sand or stone and used to make all kinds of mortar and concrete. Portland cement type 1

Portland cement type 2

Type 2 Portland cement is a type of construction cement that has a modified structure. This feature has caused the resistance of cement to attack by sulfates to be slightly higher and it can be used in the presence of soil or water containing sulfates. In addition, the speed of mixing with water or hydration in this cement is weak. For this reason, it is a bit slower than type 1.

Portland cement type 3

Because this cement has a very high hydration rate, it is also known as quick-setting cement. This cement is used for construction works with limited opportunities. Because in addition to its fast setting speed, it also has relatively high resistance after hardening. In addition, the use of this cement is very practical in cold areas, because it produces heat after hardening, which will make the building environment warmer, and it can be easily applied using a cement sprayer.

Portland cement type 4

Type 4 is one type of Portland cement used in the construction of large structures such as dams and bridges. This type, which is also known as low-temperature cement, gains little heat during use. This makes it useful for use in very hot areas or for building structures that are exposed to heat. The hydration speed of type 4 cement is low, and therefore its setting will be very slow.

Portland cement type 5

This type of cement has a very good resistance to the attack of sulfates, and for this reason, it will be very useful in areas where the water or soil has a lot of sulfates. Note that type 5 Portland cement has little resistance and therefore cannot be used to build resistant structures or structures that bear a lot of load.

2- Mixed cement

Mixed cement is one of the types of construction cement that is combined with different materials to have better physical properties. The combination of pozzolan, lime and mortar with cement produces various types of mixed cement, which we will explain below.

Pozzolanic portland cement

Pozzolan is a material obtained from silicate, which has a structure similar to cement. The combination of pozzolan with Portland cement forms this type of blended cement. In the pozzolanic type of mixed cement, pozzolan constitutes 15% of the total cement. Low temperature, resistance to sulfate and other corrosive solutions and proper hydration speed are the characteristics of this cement. The combination of special limestone with Portland cement clinker in a ratio of 20 to 80 produces this type of cement. 3- Aerated cement

Aerated cement is one of the types of construction cement that is obtained from the combination of cement clinker with resins, adhesives, sodium salts and sulfate. This type of cement has a high resistance to freezing and therefore it is suitable for use in cold regions. In fact, when the ratio of water to cement in concrete is low, aerated cement is used to increase the strength of concrete. Concretes made of this type of cement are also very resistant to cracking. Because aeration in it makes there is enough space to increase the volume of water during freezing.

4- White and colored cement

White cement and types of colored cement are one of the most widely used types of construction cement, which are mostly used for paving civil structures. These cements are obtained by combining materials such as magnesium and iron oxide with ordinary cement. Colored cements are actually a type of Portland cement mixed with inert colorants. These cements are resistant to different weather conditions and continuous sunlight, and for this reason, their color will remain constant after years. The most important advantages of white cement are:

No peeling in the long term
Available and affordable

In addition, white cement has some disadvantages, the most important of which are the following:

Long-term absorption of dust and pollution
Not having waterproof properties
Cracking over time
